The Star Invaders Space Gun is the first dollar store toy gun I’ve tested that hasn’t used darts as ammunition. This gun uses little fluorescent yellow plastic BB-like bullets as projectiles, so it’s a nice change for people looking for something other than dart ammunition. For one, the plastic bullets don’t need to stick to anything to make them worthwhile. The space gun is a black gun with some gray paint on one side and totally black on the other. Obviously, the gray painted side was showing for the customer to see. The barrel of the gun and the ammo compartment cover is made with fluorescent green sparkle plastic to give it that “space” look. The space gun is slightly bigger than the SWAT Force Dart Gun and it also has a loop around the trigger so you can twirl it a la Robocop. Just don’t drop it, or you’ll have to get another one. Right out of the package, the ammo compartment cover was cracked as were many others still at the store. It can’t be the best of quality if it breaks that easy. You get a couple of items in addition to the space gun so it’s almost like getting several toys in one. It comes with gear to make you not just someone with a space gun, but rather a space ranger, space cop or some other form of space law enforcement personnel. The first of the gear you get is a plastic watch. Unfortunately, the watch doesn’t do anything and “power” is written upside down on the face of the sticker used, but it can still be worn. The other is a badge proudly showing “Jupiter Force Captain”, with a clip on the back that fits nicely in a shirt pocket in front of a pocket protector. Just imagine how awesome you would look with a plastic watch, Jupiter Force Captain badge and a space gun in your hand that fires fluorescent yellow plastic bullets. You’re also given a couple of targets to fire at that are pictures, of all things, spaceships. The targets themselves look like something from a space combat video game with the radar and reticle. You’re probably going to need a few more bullets than the handful they give you in order to take down one of those with your space gun. You’re going to need one of these, sold separately. Realistically, you will still need one of these refill packs. Even though the Sacker sniper rifle and Police Force...

We’ve already covered some dart firing handguns and even a shotgun that fires the suction cupped darts. Now, here’s a sniper rifle that fires everyone’s favorite ammo, sticky suction cupped darts. This isn’t a Police Force brand sniper rifle or even a SWAT sniper rifle models, this sniper rifle is a Sacker Fighter sniper rifle from the novel product series of whatever. It comes with the sniper rifle and three suction cupped darts to shoot. Unfortunately, they didn’t include any targets for shooting at. Oddly enough, for dollar store toys, very few of the guns were without any targets. I still have a bunch of targets from the other toys but you can really set up anything to shoot at. I do recommend firing at targets that won’t be damaged from being knocked over and, come on people, fire away from the face, away! The dart sniper rifle is about the same size as the dart shotgun, slightly smaller but decent size. The sniper rifle also is loaded and operated the same way as the dart shotgun. Under the barrel of the rifle is the pump action grip. Load the dart, pull back the grip until it clicks then fire. There is, however, one slight flaw with this sniper rifle that could have made this toy just a little better. That nice little scope on the top? The one that’s supposed to help you see targets from far away? Well, it’s just for show. There’s no glass, plastic or any other see-through material within the scope. It’s completely hollow. Ok fine, for a cheap toy they may not have wanted to add some magnification, but even just some plastic or glass so it looks like it could be something. I guess it’s not that big of a deal, you’ll never be far enough away that you will need visual assistance since it’s only got a 10 to 15 foot range. Mind you, that range isn’t bad for a dollar store toy, it’s across the average...

Yes, finally, a cheap dart gun toy that isn’t just merely a dart handgun toy from a dollar store. This is a shotgun toy that shoots suction cupped sticky darts. When I tested the SWAT Force dart gun and it actually worked, I thought the dart shotgun that HT Toys also made would be fun to get if I could get a hold of it. But this isn’t a dart shotgun made by HT Toys. Will it work like the SWAT Force series of dart guns? Now that’s what I’m talkin about! The shotgun is much bigger than the handgun, the way it should be. For starters, the dart shotgun is about three times as long as the dart pistol. Not knowing the exact comparison size for this type of handgun and this type of shotgun, it still looks pretty good. So far a plus with the scaling. The shotgun also has a realistic looking pump action to fire the dart. The grip under the barrel slides back just like the real thing. Much better than the knob om the back of the dart handgun that needed to be pulled out. That made the handgun look little stupid when it was loaded. The dart shotgun comes with some darts for firing and a few targets to fire at. The darts are different than the SWAT Force dart gun darts. There’s no hard plastic backing that I figure helps the dart actually stick to things. These were the ones that never seemed to work. There are also two cardboard targets with stands. They will stand up but I can’t see them staying up when you fire the dart at them, and they won’t stick for sure that way. If you tape the darts down, the darts might stick, but will probably bend the cardboard. So that is your choice, have the darts stick and you wreck your targets or knock the targets down but they don’t stick. Well surprising as it is, the dart shotgun actually works and the darts do stick to windows and similarily completely flat surfaces, despite being the lesser darts. And I do mean completely flat, the paint on walls tend to be a little bit bumpy so there’s enough space to keep the suction from suctioning to the wall. Aside from that, the only drawback(wait, what am I saying “only drawback”, it’s still a dollar store toy), is that this is a shotgun and shotguns fire a spread of bullets, not a single dart. They...

If you read my other post about HT Toys SWAT force air dart gun set, you’ll remember I mentioned I found many varieties of the dart guns on the HT Toys website. Each package had different types of guns and different contents. I also stated mine seemed to be the most basic since it only had a gun and five darts when many of the other packages included targets, badges and even handcuffs. This dart gun package contains a different model dart gun, four suction cupped darts and a target with a suction cupped stand that you need to put together. The darts come with a holder that can be clipped onto a belt or pocket. There was a very heavy paint or glue smell when I opened it. I opened the window just to get some air ventilation going. Who knows what I might have unleashed opening up that package? So how does this one compare to the other toy dart gun? Here are the two dart guns next to each other. The previous one is on top with the clip of five darts to the right and this one is on the bottom with the clip of four darts to the left. Both say “9mm Auto” but only on the side you can see it here. The other side is just the silver paint. This dart gun is smaller than the previous one and only has four darts. The darts are smaller for this gun than the previous one so you can’t use the darts for both guns. This one also warns not to modify the darts for use with the guns for any reason so your hands are tied. They both work and the darts stick to completely flat surfaces, such as windows. And when I say completely flat, I mean completely. They only stuck to certain walls for a second or two before falling because the paint was slightly bumpy if you took a closer look. The other gun had no targets included so my only choice was to shoot the darts at the windows and walls. This gun, on the other hand, included two targets and a suction cupped stand to hold them up. The outline on the targets shows a guy with one hand behind his back, possibly concealing a weapon to make you want to shoot them. Nice touch. At a first glance, the targets looked like they would stick to a wall, window or other perfectly flat section as is, but...

What do you get when you cross a boxing glove and a gun? You get the boxing glove gun. I guess it is supposed to be like one of those gag joke guns you can find that shoot out a little banner that says bang. The only problem is you can’t really fool anyone since the boxing glove is right on the front and not hiding inside the barrel like the banner joke guns. Both sides of the boxing glove gun Much like the other toys, the packaging for the boxing glove gun is quite interesting as are the mascots. First you have the title: Sounds like a disease or disorder Pugilism is defined as: “The skill, practice, and sport of fighting with the fists; boxing.” I don’t think using the boxing gun would qualify as skill or fighting with fists but I guess there is nothing saying it can’t be with a boxing glove attached to a gun right? Right? I mean you make a fist when you grip the gun. Grasping at straws if you ask me. Then you have the many mascots. Looks kind of like a panda bear. Note the “Made in Chine” Wasn’t Bug Bunny boxing before? The bunny mascot with a kids head All of them are boxing with boxing gloves. None of them are using the boxing glove gun. It’s so bad the mascots don’t even want to use it? Anyway, there is not much to the boxing glove gun toy. You pull the trigger and it extends a few more inches. Maybe if you get two of them you can “box” with them but I only found one. I have never seen them anywhere else either. Now if I could put that boxing glove on one of the sticky darts from the SWAT force air dart gun set, that would be awesome. TKO someone from across the...
